Valentine’s Day relaxation exercise
Valentine’s Day is here and people everywhere are saying, “I love you!”
Whether you think Valentine’s Day is an important event, or a commercial gimmick dreamed up by card manufacturers, you can’t escape it! So why not take advantage of the day as a chance to show you love that you really care?
Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to only be about couples. There are all kinds of love which can be celebrated! Show your friends, family, even your pets that you care
Craft activities are a lovely way to spend quality time together as a family. Why not get together and make a homemade gift or cards for each other?
‘Love Stones’ make great Valentine’s gifts. Get some big pebbles and let children paint them and write the word LOVE on it. Whenever they are going through a hard time, they can hold the stone and think about how much they are loved.
To help you get you all in the mood, here is a simple Valentine’s Day relaxation exercise:
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose (slowly), and then out through your mouth. Put your hand on your chest and spend a few moments feeling calm and relaxed. Now, imagine that you have a smile in your heart. Watch how you start to have loving feelings. Can you send that smile up to your face? Let your mouth smile gently. Breathe in and out and rest there for a few moments. Now open your eyes and see how different you all feel.
