Staying asleep
My son is 15 months old and has never been a very good sleeper. We've managed to get him to go to sleep on his own,and some nights he sleeps straight through(this is anything but the norm) but other nights he can wake up anything from 2-5 times a night. Occasionally if I leave him in his cot he will go back to sleep, but other times he screams continuously. I don't know the best way to break the pattern or what I can do to help him settle into a relaxed and deep sleep. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Hi there - i can imagine that this must be very distressing for you and your son. Does he respond well to relaxing music or white noise or a relaxation track? We are not qualified to give medical advice, but it does sound like he might have some sort of separation anxiety. I think the first port of call would be to speak to the doctor. Also Mill Pond Clinics specialise in sleeping problems. I hope he does grow out of it shortly.
