It's New Years Eve and 365 days of possibilities lay in front of you- make sure every day is a positive day for your child/children!
Try some of our lovely activities throughout 2019.
Memory Jar Every time your children do something special, get them to save or collect something like a leaf, a pebble, or a ticket and place it in the memory jar. At the end of year they will have a whole jar of special memories to look over… it’s so nice to look back on how special your past year has been.
Happiness Jar You could also use your jar as a happiness jar. Every time your children do something that makes them happy ask them to write it on a piece of paper and put it in the jar. At the end of the year, open up the jar and read out all their happy memories- it will make them feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
Positive Consequences This is a lovely game you can play as a family. Get into a circle and make sure everyone has a piece of paper and a pen. Get everyone to put their name at the top of the paper and pass it round to the person on their left. This person will then write something nice about the person whose name is at the top. Keep passing it round the circle until everyone has written something nice. Everyone will then have a list of nice things that everyone thinks of them. This is a great way to boost self-esteem and confidence!
Wishing Tree Pick a branch from the garden- you could paint it a bright colour, but you don’t have to. Get the children to write some wishes on pieces of paper and hang them on the branch with string. As the year goes on get the children to keep writing wishes and placing them on the tree. You could also try a gratitude tree- get the children to think of things they are grateful for and hang them on it.
Relax Kids wishes you a magical 2019 filled with positivity!
Take positivity through 2019 with our Elevator of Happiness CD- a CD that is full of creative exercises to encourage children to be more positive, appreciative, grateful and kind. “The visualisations are good for children of all ages and I like the themes of them such as The Door of Choice and The Happiness Switch.â€Â
