In a government report, it was noted that almost 10% of children suffer from some sort of mental health problems and 4% have anxiety disorders. Children worry about their schools, their health, the health of their families and even world events.

Symptoms of anxiety include:
restlessness • fatigue • irritability • insomnia • difficulty in concentration

physical complaints include:
insomnia • muscle tension • headaches • nausea • diarrhea • chest tightness • breathing difficulties<

It is normal for children to have anxiety on occasion and many cases of mild anxiety can be cured by relaxation time, massage before bedtime, positive self-talk, positive praise and attention. If the symptoms persist, it can lead to more sever disorders such as phobias, panic disorders, OCD. If you are worried about your child's extreme anxiety, it maybe necessary to consult your psychotherapist or doctor (only using medication as a last resort for severe conditions).

Regular relaxation periods and exercises can help child anxiety and can also be used as a preventative method. Relax Kids have created a range of CDs to help children cope with symptoms of anxiety.
