about Hyperactivity and ADHD

Attention Defecit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and hyperactivity disorder aren't just kids having too much energy - they're neurochemical and neurophysiological issues. Studies of the brains of children with ADHD exhibit on average thinner brain tissue in areas of the brain associated with concentration13. Individuals with ADHD may also have an impaired neurotransmitter system, which means that areas of the brain associated with decision-making and self-control are less able to function.
ADHD and Hyperactivity disorders are associated with:
  • Significantly impaired academic performance and achievement.14
  • Increased rates of school absences, detentions, exclusions and expulsions.15
  • Greatly increased risk of other mental health problems such as bipolar disorder and depression.

Relax Kids for Hyperactivity and ADHD

Teacher

"I had a student with ADHD in the 2013-3014 school year whose behavior and academic progress significantly improved after participating in Relax Kids sessions which I did with my class. Relax Kids helped all my students to be more mindful and far less reactive."

Traci Mausolf Teacher and Relax Kids Practitioner, International School of Hamburg.

Our unique seven-step method is research-based. Studies conducted by universities and academics all over the world suggest that treatments very similar to the Relax Kids system have achieved positive results in improving attention span and calming children.

Move and Play - Intense exercise has been demonstrated to help improve the concentration levels of children with ADHD.16
Stretch - Studies show that Yoga-like stretches and exercise help to improve symptoms of ADHD as a complement to conventional treatment, particularly when used regularly.17
Feel - Consensual, clothed and supervised peer or self-massage promotes positive touch, which studies suggest may improve attention span.18
Breathe - Controlled and deep breathing exercises promote calmness and focus.
Believe - Positive affirmations on either a one-to-one or group basis help to promote good self-esteem and confidence for children.
Relax - Studies of mindfulness training for children with ADHD suggested it could reduce inattention and hyperactivity symptoms.19
