Use this any time you need to calm down your classroom or take out a moment for yourself.
Ask children to get a partner and take their partner's hand so it is facing upwards with their hand underneath. Use the thumb to lightly the palm in circles.
This is a relaxation point in the hand and has a calming effect on the whole body. Pupils can also use both palms.
Pupils can do this for themselves by interlacing the fingers and using their right thumb to circle the left hand.
This is a great technique to use in the classroom to help reduce pupil stress. It also helps them focus before exams.
